Abersoch is synonymous with watersports, with a thriving community of thrill seekers partaking in activities such as surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and much more. It’s almost as if the village completely revolves around the activity. Even some of the big name high street brands such as Animal, the White Stuff and Crew Clothing are strongly associated with watersports.
Irrespective of whether you are a newbie or an experienced hand, you will be able to try out many of these activities for yourself in the village. There are plenty of local schools nearby providing equipment and lessons so that you can become a master of your chosen watersport. This includes the aptly named Abersoch Watersports store and Abersoch Surf Shop. There really aren’t any prizes being given out for name originality here…
2, Play Golf
Located just outside of the village is the famous Abersoch Golf Club which has a history dating back to 1907. This challenging 18 hole course has a mixture of links and parkland features and was designed by US Open and British Open Championship winner Harry Vardon.
Many experienced golfers believe that the downhill 3rd hole is the most memorable on the course, with this 246 yard downhill par three also providing beautiful views across the bay towards the Snowdonia Mountains.
The Abersoch Golf Club also has its own indoor simulator where you can analyse your swing and get instant feedback which you can put to good use once you take to the course in the real world.
3. Go for a Walk
If you aren’t one for sitting still and watching the world go by on the famous Abersoch beach, then you may prefer to go on a long coastal walk. The Abersoch seafront forms part of the Llŷn Coastal Path, an 84 mile walkway consisting of rugged coastline, hidden caves and captivating cliffs. While it might be a bit of a stretch to complete the whole distance, you can stroll along at your leisure and admire the scenery which makes the region so popular with ramblers.
Those who would prefer a circular walk may instead want to complete the Cilan Headland Walk which is approximately 7 miles in length and provides panoramic views of the sea, nearby islands and Snowdonia mountains in the distance.

If you enjoy taking in the culture of the region, then you may wish to pay a visit to one of the art galleries near Abersoch. There are two of these in total, each of which aims to showcase the very best of local Welsh talent.
The closest to Gimblet Rock Holiday Park is Plas Glyn y Weddw Gallery in Pwllheli. This is unquestionably the most popular and expansive of the two. with an ever changing range of exhibitions which ensure that no two visits to the gallery are ever the same. It is also famous for its collection of rare Swansea and Nantgarw Porcelain being one of the largest in the world.
While you are visiting, you may also want to pay a visit to the on-site cafe which recently won an architectural award for its unique aesthetic which is almost as impressive as the food that is on offer at the venue. We’d strongly recommend book an afternoon tea experience at the cafe, with their selection of cakes and sandwiches attracting foodies from miles around.

Generally considered to be the best of these is the Abersoch Land and Sea boat trip where you will ride aboard a 9 metre Humber RIB vessel and take in the stunning sights in the local region. This includes the dramatic coastline around St Tudwals Island and Porth Ceiriad, along with its hidden coves and breathtaking beaches.
