Dog Friendly Places to Eat in Pwllheli
If you are enjoying a pet friendly holiday in Pwllheli at Gimblet Rock Holiday Park, then you will no doubt be keen to find out where the best pet friendly attractions and restaurants are to be found.
We’ve done half of the work for you with our list featuring some of the best dog friendly places to eat in Pwllheli. From train station cafes to seafront bistros, there are a wide selection of pet loving eateries to choose from in our friendly seaside town. Without further delay, let's get straight to our list…
1. Buffers Café at Pwllheli Station
Located at Pwllheli train station, Buffers Café isn’t your traditional run down train café run by a soulless chain. Instead, they create home cooked delights for breakfast, brunch and lunch which are a step above the kind of cuisine that you will normally find in such locations.
It is a must visit for train enthusiasts, being one of the few remaining wooden train station buildings in Britain. Open between 7:30 am and 3:45 pm each day, you will have the option to dine inside this grade 2 listed building on the outdoor section which is the only pet friendly area of the café. The outdoor section is sheltered from the elements, so is a perfect decent option even when it is raining.
The café is particularly famous for the quality of its breakfasts and cakes, and even produced vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for those with special dietary requirements.
2. Waterfront Bar and Restaurant
As the name suggests, Waterfront Bar & Restaurant is the perfect eatery for those who wish to dine with excellent sea views. These are best enjoyed from the beer garden which also happens to be the dog friendly section of the restaurant.
This is a great area to sit on the days when the sun has got its hat on. However, the proprietors have also sheltered the beer garden and added heating, making it a dining option even on the rainiest of days.
Brunch, lunch and dinner menu items are available to choose from, all of which are freshly prepared on-site using local ingredients. The staff are also renowned for their friendliness irrespective of the customer's species.
3. The View
Located just up the road from Gimblet Rock Holiday Park is The View, a bar and restaurant which provides gorgeous views overlooking Pwllheli Marina. This is the perfect place to enjoy a drink with a wide selection of excellent beers available alongside spirits, ciders, wines and soft drinks.
While it isn’t a permanent restaurant, The View does occasionally invite in guest caterers with the likes of Big Dog Pizza and Byrgyrs O Benllyn being two of the most popular with locals.
The proprietors are also incredibly dog welcoming, with our four legged companions perhaps getting an even bigger welcome than their owners.
4. Caffi Sol
Located right next to the Pwllheli amusements, Caffi Sol is one of the most popular dog friendly restaurants in Pwllheli for those who enjoy a quality breakfast. Open from 9am daily, you can choose from a Full Welsh breakfast, a vegetarian variant or something a little lighter be it a slice of toast, toasted teacake or bacon sandwich.
Food is served over the remainder of the day with a dedicated children’s menu and adult options varying from full on-meals such as burger & chips all the way through to lighter lunches such as cheese baguettes. The only thing to bear in mind is that there isn't too much concern for healthy diets here with most plates arriving full and without calories in mind. Nevertheless, it is a popular option for families with children owing to its close proximity to the amusements.
Pet owners are also well catered for in the outdoor section of the restaurant which has both cover and uncovered sections. This is definitely an eatery that will keep all members of the family happy.
